Classic Car Overview

1995 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

For consignment, a 95 Corvette with a title verified 31,156 actual miles. This one checks some boxes including garage kept, all original, fairly fresh tires, a retractable top, and a black on black configuration that many consider one of the best specs.

Exterior
No fancy names for it here, its simply two stage Black that drapes over the car with miles deep resolution. The rounded rear fascia and tail of the 95 harkens back to the original 84 C4 but with a more lasting and relevant design, capped off by rectangular exhaust tips that simply fit the vibe. The profile of the car is, not surprisingly, shark-like...long, low, and streamlined with a laser straight shoulder line especially evident with the top down. The nose stretches out before the deeply raked windshield, a short cabin, and a flat rear deck and our 17-inch sawblade wheels carry low profile tires with a mid-2021 date code. The canvas black top and its glass window with defrost are in excellent condition. We note a touch of wear on the canvas where it meets the bottom of the window. Imperfections are few and include a slight gap issue on the nose piece, a dull patch on the front, a few chips, scratches and inclusions. Overall, it presents very well.

Interior
Solid black molded plastic doors give way to the door sill where Corvette is spelled out in white letters and inside, black leather bucket seats with asymmetrical stitch lines were used from 94-96 and are distinct and both show in very nice shape. The leather wrapped steering wheel has a large airbag compartment in the center and fronts the analog instrument cluster that flanks the now familiar orange backed digital screen includes an ascending tachometer, then four small gauges that complete the arch on the other side. The center stack, which is canted toward the driver, contains an info screen with indicator lights, push button A/C controls, and a factory AM/FM/Cassette radio with matching push buttons. The automatic shifter is in the center console with more black leather in the knob and boot along with a stat plate on the console which shows a touch of age. Low pile black carpet covers the front floor and the rear cargo area, all in very nice condition.

Drivetrain
The much loved 5.7 liter, 350ci LT1 V8 is under the clamshell hood and factory rated at 300 horsepower and 340-foot pounds of torque. The 4-speed automatic transmission is the 4L60E which sends gusto to the rear wheels where it finds 3.07 gears in a limited slip axle.

Undercarriage
Fantastically clean and dry underneath with no surface rust to speak of and only a light film of residual oil on the pan. The dual exhaust flow from the engine then runs tandem under the aluminum driveshaft to then go wide to meet the factory mufflers and exit through rectangle tips that tuck into a subtly sculpted rear valance. Independent suspension is found on the front and rear and includes forged aluminum components, transverse monoleaf springs, steel stabilizers, and other components not seen on mere mortal cars. Naturally, power disc brakes are on all four wheels.

Drive-Ability
This one performs as expected, with a torquey grunt off the line and great acceleration and handling. Sure, its a little less refined than your C7, but this is the analog antidote to Corvette fever! And this well kept example operates at 100% as all functions work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Yes, C4s are still bargains for the level of performance and when you combine that with one dressed in a black tuxedo and retractable top, you have a winning recipe for the gateway drug to the sports, collector and classic car worlds! Once again, we dont make predictions on sales, but well venture to guess this one wont last. Put your money down on black and call today!
