Exterior
Designed to cut through the wind, our wedge shaped Vette is bathed in Polo Green Metallic, a color we like to think of as the American version of British Racing Green! Its a fitting car for this sports car, here augmented by the gold filled Corvette stamping in back. The dark car folds in Chevrolets 17-inch sawblade wheels which appear to be in motion even when parked while up top, a black targa top gives the cabin a jet like canopy. Out back, the design is as tasteful as it is epic, with smooth curves, tail lights embedded in coves, and square exhaust pipes that hug the apron tightly. This all comes at the end of a fantastic sloping and curved rear window which spills air onto the short decklid. C4s have been overshadowed of late by the C8, but damn, this is one fine design! Imperfections on this example include a paint run and bubble on the front fender, and scuffs on rear bumper cover and a few on front.

Interior
Black and light beige contrast sharply on the door panels and both present in very nice condition, opening up to the cabin where we find leather bucket seats with the drivers side showing some wear and staining but otherwise in good shape. The instrument cluster follows the arch of the steering wheel curvature with a tachometer on the left and condition gauges on the right, flanking the orange backlit digital screen in center. In the center stack, a clean arrangement of buttons and knobs to control temperature and the AM/FM/Cassette radio, also lit in orange. A flat center console houses the automatic stick while low pile beige carpet floods the floor and the rear cargo area thats supplied with mounting units for targa top storage.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is the 5.7 LT1 engine, looking clean and rated at 300 horsepower. Its backed by a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the rear axle with 2.59 gears and Positraction.

Undercarriage
Its clean underneath also with some typical signs of usage but no red flags or concerns here. The dual exhaust still utilizes the original mufflers before exiting out back and power disc brakes occupy all four wheels. Suspension is a complex race inspired system of forged aluminum control arms, knuckles, control links along with transverse monoleaf springs and a tubular U-joint aluminum driveshaft.

Drive-Ability
The car had no trouble starting and idling smoothly and once in gear, delivered the kind of power weve come to expect. Smooth linear torque is always underfoot and shifts are crisp. The car handles like a go kart and stops on a dime and were satisfied that everything on this American classic worked just as intended!
