VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

Classic Car Overview

This 1993 Mazda RX-7 is an all-out, no-excuses street weapon built to shock people who think they know what fast looks like. On a conservative tune, it puts down 700 wheel horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque, with just 10,000 miles on the build-and that number will continue to climb as its driven the way it was meant to be. The chassis shows 130,000 miles, but the car is backed by a clean title with no accidents, no flood history, and no known issues. At its core is a fully machined and built iron-block 6.0L LS, bored .030 over and assembled with forged internals throughout. Wiseco forged pistons, Texas Speed H-beam rods, an LS3 crankshaft, and extensive ARP hardware ensure durability well beyond its current power level. The rotating assembly is balanced, the heads have been worked and cleaned, and compression is perfect across all eight cylinders. LS3 823 heads, an XR277HR Comp Cams camshaft, upgraded valvetrain components, and an LS3 intake with a large throttle body complete a brutally efficient top end. Boost comes from a D1SC ProCharger running a 3.55-inch pulley with an 8-rib drive system to eliminate belt slip. Supporting components include a ProFlow bypass valve, upgraded cooling, a custom radiator, and a clean, functional engine bay finished with black powder-coated hardware. Despite the performance level, the car retains power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning, making it shockingly civilized on the street. The car is controlled by a Haltech Elite 2000 standalone ECU with a brand-new terminated harness, flex-fuel capability, and a full suite of sensors. Tuned by CBI for both E85 and pump gas, the RX-7 drives exceptionally well, pulling hard while remaining smooth and predictable. Traction control hardware is already in place via installed speed sensors. Power is delivered through a built Magnum-F T56 six-speed transmission into a Ford 8.8 Cobra IRS with 3.55 gears, mounted in a reinforced cradle and paired with a custom driveshaft using 1350 U-joints. This setup gives the car strength, reliability, and far better street manners than a traditional solid axle swap. Suspension and braking are fully sorted with Tein Flex Z coilovers, upgraded sway bars, bump steer correction, Wilwood components, vented rotors, extreme-duty pads, and an ABS delete. The e-brake remains fully functional. The RX-7 sits on 18-inch F1R wheels, wrapped in wide street drag radials out back and performance tires up front, giving it an aggressive stance and serious traction. Inside, the car remains clean and purpose-built, featuring custom Speedhut gauges, a rare and highly desirable factory sunroof, upgraded audio system, and well-executed details throughout. All glass is original with matching VINs, windows are tinted, and everything works as it should. This is not a slapped-together swap-its a carefully engineered, high-horsepower RX-7 that delivers modern supercar performance with proven components and real-world drivability. Turn the key, select your fuel, and hang on. Visit us at 5626 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, MO, 63116. For inquiries, call (515)-REVHEADS and ask for Damon.
