Classic Car Overview

1993 Defender 90 - "Hue" - 200Tdi

This 1993 Land Rover Defender 90 is a beautiful tribute to one of Britains most iconic off-road vehicles. Its finished in classic Grasmere Green with an Alaska White roof and Land Rover Wolf wheels, echoing the design of the original Series I. The vibrant green paint shines in the sunlight, capturing the adventurous spirit and heritage of the Defender name. Under the hood is the legendary 200Tdi diesel engine, known for its reliability and rugged performance. Its paired with the durable R380 5-speed manual transmission, delivering a hands-on, engaging driving experience. With 78k miles, this powertrain remains strong and dependable. Fuel economy ranges from 28 to 32 mpg, thanks to its efficient turbo direct injection (Tdi) system and the versatile 2-speed transfer case. Whether on highways or rough terrain, this Defender performs with confidence. This Defender pays homage to the special Heritage Edition models released in 2015, marking the Defenders final production year after 67 years. Its inspired by the very first Land Rover, the companys very first pre-production vehicle, a Land Rover Series 1. It was in the summer of 1947 that Maurice Wilks (then technical chief of Rover) came up with the idea of a world-conquering vehicle to kick-start exports for the ailing Rover car company with the registration plate HUE 166, affectionately nicknamed Huey. Every detail in this tribute captures the charm and utility of that original Series I model all those years ago.

Design highlights include the Grasmere Green paint, Alaska White roof, and a Heritage-style grille. Complete Air conditioner unit for comfort. A dark blue front bumper with black Heritage front extended grill, foldable side steps, clear LED lighting, and body-colored headlamp surrounds complete the exterior. Classic unpainted rivets and refreshed hardwareincluding door seals, window seals, door hinges, and door boltsenhance both looks and longevity. It also benefits from a fresh mechanical overhaul, including new suspension, shocks, and springs, along with brand-new brake calipers, pads, and rotors. A heavy-duty clutch has been installed as well, ensuring smooth and reliable performance.  Inside, the cabin reflects the Defenders vintage character with Masai tan seats with cream piping and foldable rear front-face seats. Alcantara headline through the entire ceiling. Exmoor Trim carpeting, a Momo 3-spoke steering wheel, and chrome accents add retro charm and warmth. Everything works as it should, from the heater and lights to the wipers and gauges. With its left-hand drive layout, this Defender delivers a true British driving experience. Its the perfect mix of classic design, mechanical simplicity, and rugged capability. For those seeking a true piece of Land Rover history, this Defender 90, HUE 166 is a standout example.
