The car offered here is number 166 of the 645 built and this car is also 89 of the 125 Festival Cars that was driven by local Indy DJ Charlie Morgan of WFMS at the time. This car has been well cared for and well driven. This body style marked the new generation of classic Camaro and Pace Car editions are widely popular among enthusiasts and collectors. They are now poised to rapidly increase in value and will be a great investment. Features for this 3rd gen Camaro include; power steering, power disc brakes, power drivers seat, aftermarket stereo, and factory t-tops. The Opti Spark and water pump have just been replaced as well.
The fourth-generation Camaro, featuring completely new and extremely smooth styling, was introduced for 1993. The Z28 featured a 275-hp version of the Corvette LT-1 small block V-8 introduced the year before, making the Camaro performance model the closest car to a Corvette available with a rear seat. In 1993, the redesigned Camaro was selected as the pace car for the Indianapolis 500, becoming the first car to hold the honor four times. As in the past, a limited production Pace Car Edition package was offered through Chevy dealers; 645 1993 Z28s were built as a Pace Car Edition and distributed to the American public. All came highly optioned with the 275-hp LT-1 V8 and specially equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. All Pace Car Editions were optioned with special commemorative interior upholstery, special commemorative Indy 500 paint scheme, striping, and graphics, special badging, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, tilt, cruise control, leather steering wheel, climate control system, center console, CD sound system, rear bucket seats, accessory power point, rear spoiler, fog lights, alloy wheels, etc. T-tops were an option.
