With increased attention on performance cars from the 1990s and early 2000s, it makes perfect sense that Camaros would start to come onto peoples radar. ... the Z28 and SS offer affordable V-8 rear-drive tire-burning fun for younger enthusiasts on a budget.... -Hagerty, February 2018 Regardless of budget, the standard advice for anyone in the collectible-car market remains: Buy the best one you can afford. And the second sound two-part piece of advice is Look for originality, and beware of mods. Apply that advice and this one-owner 93 Camaro Z28 comes up a true winner. At 92,375 miles-roughly 3,300 miles per year on average- and 28 years of age, this Z28 has crossed the 25-year threshold considered to be the beginning of collectability for any model. (Its also at an age at which many states offer reduced registration fees.) A Carfax-verified one-owner car purchased new at Classic Chevrolet of Lake City, Michigan, the Z28 is free of modifications or damage of any kind, and presents in original specification. The design language of the fourth-gen Camaro still looks sleek by modern-day standards. A black-painted roof adds to the cars jet-cockpit styling, and aerodynamic side-view mirrors coupled with an integrated trunk spoiler provide design cues to help the car look fast at any speed. This example is equipped with dual rectangular exhaust tips and integrated fog lamps up front. The exterior Purple Pearl Metallic paint (a rare and attractive color choice) and trim retains its factory appearance. Meticulous one-owner-care is evident. The gloss black roof shines like new and handsomely complements the body color. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Body panels are properly aligned and free of damage. The integrated rear spoiler, lighting lenses, and cabin glass all display original finishes in excellent condition. Factory 16-inch slanted-spoke alloy wheels (with Camaro-emblem center caps) are mounted with BFGoodrich g-force Comp2 245/50 performance tires. Inside, the very appealing two-tone gray, tweed-weave upholstery on the well-bolstered front high-back bucket and rear two-position seats shows virtually no wear and absolutely no damage or sign of abuse. Door trim nicely combines the light-and-dark-gray colors for visual distinctiveness. Charcoal-colored carpeting in the cabin, and extending to the rear under-hatch cargo area, is flawless. The black dashboard, comprehensive instrument array, and cockpit controls all retain original finishes. The same is true for the console-mounted automatic transmission shifter. The original AM/FM/CD audio head unit is still where it was installed by the factory. Under the hood, the 5.7-liter V8 rated at 275 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque when new is entirely original. The engine compartment-down to the factory applied stickers-is properly laid out, very clean, and complete. No modifications are noted. Classic Cars Journal in a January 2021 article proclaimed: ... what a performance car it was. Although base-model Camaros... came with a 3.8-liter V6, higher-level models like the Z28 were powered by a 5.7-liter LT1 350cid small-block V8 that was originally introduced in the Corvette in 1992. The cars undercarriage is similarly clean and properly laid out. There
