Classic Car Overview
For consignment, a 1992 Dodge W250 Club Cab 4x4 long bed pickup truck showing 164,504 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to exemption. This northwest U.S. native comes with a five year old repaint and a model name that spells out all of the desirable features it possesses.
Exterior
Its the right combination of Midnight Blue Metallic sandwiching a central band of Silver and accented by a delineating red line and side molding that continues to the overhangs, accentuating the length of this long bed, extended cab truck. A broad red stripe crosses the tailgate over Dodge written in period font and a diamond steel topped bumper and clear lens tail lights. Up front, it still wears the boxy grille that would only last one more year before a redesign adds curves to the fenders and hood, and the Ram hood ornament never looked so good! 16 -inch wheels with dog dish hubcaps carry LT rated tires with a mid 2020 date code while our bed has spray-on liner and a diamond steel topped tool box behind the rear sliding window. Imperfections on the nice exterior include some clear coat bubbling in the tailgates red stripe, some surface rust on the rear bumper, and a few blemishes on the hood.
Interior
Angular and boxy is how the door panels are designed with gray plastic, cloth and carpet appear in alternating levels and both doors present cleanly, opening up to front bucket seats in matching gray cloth with a peppering of minor holes and each with their own inner armrest. Behind them, center facing modest vinyl seats over blue carpet afford some back up seating or a decent storage area. A rubberized steering wheel is ergonomically contoured and leads to a woodgrain dash with three basic gauges, A/C panel, updated AM/FM/CD radio, and an added air pressure gauge for the air ride suspension. Theres a column shifter and a floor mounted range selector over newer blue carpet while a newer smooth gray headliner is above, finishing up this clean interior.
Drivetrain
The engine bay houses a busy 5.9 liter Cummins turbo diesel six cylinder rated at 160 horsepower and fuel injected. Its mated to a 45RH 4-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt about 2,000 miles ago and routes power to the Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear axles.
Undercarriage
Pretty clean underneath with some typical surface rust and seam sealer on the drivers cab corner, with dry conditions. A single exhaust runs all the way to the back without a muffler while leaf springs are utilized front and rear. Brakes are configured as power discs in front and power drums in back.
Drive-Ability
We climb on up to the comfortable cabin which gives a birds eye view of the world as the long bed fills the space in the rear view mirror. The Cummins comes to life with the typical diesel rattle and we row her into Drive to lap around the test loop where the truck runs well, tracks straight, and pulls hard. We note only the A/C not working but all other functions operate as they should, and its off to the truck room for this beauty! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Fear not, there is a receiver on back so you can tow your boat, show car, race car, RV, or virtually anything else! While a surviving 92 is nearing classic status, this truck is capable of returning to work if thats what you need. Old trucks are just plain cool and rolling coal is the way to go for hauling torque.
