For the 1991 model year, Mazda introduced a "Special Edition" version of the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Limited to four thousand units for the US and Canada, the 1991 Special Edition was painted in British racing green with tan leather interior and tonneau cover, and featured cosmetic upgrades such as a Nardi shift knob and handbrake lever, stainless steel door sills, among others.
