Classic Car Overview
1991 Land Rover Defender 90 TDI200 For consignment, a 1991 Land Rover Defender 90 TDI200 with a title verified 153,137 actual kilometers, or 95,154 miles. This truck was imported from Italy and received extensive refurbishment from J. Whites Automotive in Bellingham, Massachusetts, and their Land Rover Gold Certified technicians. Exterior If you climb mountains in Switzerland, youll find the Alps, often topped by snow and the combination of white caps and rugged terrain lends itself to the name of this rigs color, Alpinweiss, or Alpine White for those of us stateside. Classically contrasting the body color are black features that include the bumpers, grille, fender flares, and roof topper, all augmented here by 16-inch Borbet wheels, also in black. They carry 10 ply LT rated 75 series tires which help boost the profile to 4x4 heights. Clear lenses cover the array of rear lights, all round in epic Rover fashion while a spare wheel and tire are mounted to the rear door which itself is flanked by portal style windows. Imperfections include various cracks in the paint, bubbling, and chipping paint along an edge. Interior Charcoal black plastic door panels are utilitarian in style and dirt resistant, presenting cleanly here. Up front, charcoal vinyl bucket seats flank a center console with storage and cupholders, while the four spoke steering wheel front an uncomplicated dashboard replete with indicator lights and some simple gauges. Vent and fan controls bookend the central pod and a storage shelf is provided across the dash. On the steel body colored transmission hump is the tall shifter and transfer case selector in quality black plastic and rubber mats cover the front footwells. In the back, bench seats facing north and south line the side walls with gray carpet for your feet and seatbelts are provided. Gray cloth padded panels line the headliner on a roof that allows in lots of light for a bright greenhouse. Drivetrain Under the hood we find the 2.5 liter inline four turbo diesel powerplant in driver quality but clean condition. The engine is good for 107 horsepower and is tied to a newer R380 5-speed transmission which can send power to front and rear axles, both with 3.54 gears. Undercarriage Clean and dry conditions prevail underneath where things are uniformly black with the occasional appearance of some typical surface rust. Suspension consists of coil springs front and rear with radius arms up front and a 4 link in back. Power brakes are distributed as front disc and rear drum and the single exhaust flows through an original equipment muffler on its way to a side exit behind a rear wheel. Drive-Ability We take our perch up front and take advantage of the commanding view to roll this rugged rig onto the test loop where the turbo diesel does not disappoint, providing adequate power while the mud terrain tires grab the asphalt with ease. The rear wiper has been removed as have the fog lights, and the reverse lights are not working. Beyond these things, all functions operate as they should and we roll across our flat terrain back to the mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
