Classic Car Overview

Restored F150.
Trucks are cool. We are proud to present this 1991 Ford F150 XL. Representing America's best-selling pickup, the F-150 has become something of legend thanks to its adaptability, dependability and dynamic styling. Through decades of production the F series pickups always offered a truck for every type of lifestyle. This regular cab long bed looks handsome in its red paint sitting high on chrome wheels with all terrain tires.
Under the hood is a fuel injected 4.9 Liter inline 6 the famous A300ci engine, factory rated at 145 horsepower and a hefty 265 lb ft of torque is one of the greatest engines ever. Ford used them for 31 years in not only farm pickups, but also airline tugs, tractors, irrigation pumps, snow plows, wood chippers and even those big brown awkward UPS trucks that delivered you your car parts. At 165,000 miles this engine is in mid-life. It almost cannot be killed, and thats why you should know about it. (See a recent article here https://jalopnik.com/heres-why-the-ford-300-inline-six-is-one-of-the-greates-1795351528 )
Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission imagine how this truck can get up and go! If you're looking for a sweet truck for your next camping trip or simply to drive down your favorite dirt road this is the one you want to own!
The dash will take you back to the 90s and the original AM/FM Cassette stereo, air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, seat belts, sliding rear window, intermittent wipers, and radial tires, rhino-liner, 2 tailgates one for work, one for show; Class 4 hitch receiver and 7 pin trailer connector and factory dual gas tanks.
This truck is rust free and has been through a mechanical and cosmetic restoration from paint, new upholstery and interior to the major mechanical systems. The interior is fresh with new upholstery and padding for the bench seat to new the floor mat.
See pictures of the painstaking paint restoration sanded, primed, color coat and clear coat, not your $1200 special from the national chain down the street.
The cosmetic upgrades include new:
- Paint and body work
- Window seals
- Floor mat
- Seat paddling and upholstery
- New trailer mirrors
- Headlight and taillight lenses
The mechanical upgrades include:
- Brakes - master cylinder, rotors, disks, drums, shoes, brake lines
- Suspension new shocks and rear leaf springs
- New gas fill hoses and gas tank seals
- Alternator
- Clutch
- Battery
- Hoses and belts
- New speakers
- Steering steering box, tie rods and ends
Classic pickups like the Ford F-series are some of the hottest selling metal in the collector car market. That universal and apparently boundless appeal is one reason putting a little money on a clean cruiser like this cool F-150 is an excellent idea. The beneficiary of acute restoration, this awesome truck mixes timeless aesthetics and a proven A300 powerplant. And if you're in the market for some standout Americana, it's a perfect candidate for miles of parade and years of display!
The 8th generation of F-150's, which was produced between 1988 - 1991, merged the basic toughness, simplicity, and reliability that had come to define Ford pick-ups to that point with the modern features and drivetrains that were rugged and reliable. This classic square corner F150 was the last year before Ford soften the edges and rounded the corners starting with the 1992 model year trucks a trend that has only recently been reversed.
