Classic Car Overview
THIS is a 1991 Bentley Turbo R, finished in Graphite with a black interior.
Doug DeMuro recently reviewed this Bentley Turbo R, and the video is viewable below. This Turbo R is currently owned by automotive journalist Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire, and his review and tour from 2024 is also viewable on YouTube.
The odometer on this Bentley currently displays approximately 29,600 miles.
The Carfax vehicle history report shows no accidents or mileage discrepancies in this Bentleys past; it also indicates that this saloon has been registered in California since new, except for the current owner moving the car to Seattle in March 2025.
According to the build sheet provided in the gallery, factory equipment includes 15-inch alloy wheels, self-leveling rear suspension, Connolly leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats with memory function, wood interior trim, power windows, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear footrests, and more, as outlined below.
Modifications reported by the seller include Hella H4 headlight bulbs, yellow foglight bulbs, a Pioneer Bluetooth head unit, and Pioneer stereo speakers.
Bentley launched the Turbo R in 1985 as an evolution of the Mulsanne Turbo, though American sales didn't start until the 1989 model year. Stretching about 207 inches long, this stately sedan stood out from other members of the Bentley range by offering driver-friendly handling and surprising performance, but it remained lavishly appointed inside. It was positioned between the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and Silver Spur as one of the most exclusive automobiles money could buy at the time.
Power comes from a "Six and Three-Quarter Litre" turbocharged V8, rated at around 297 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission.
