Classic Car Overview
Purchased in 2005. Been garage kept for 15 of the 17 years I've owned it. This has been my baby since high school. The reason the paint is not that great is because I started to do the body work in 2009 and due to the recession, we had to abruptly move and I had to just have it sprayed with a cheaper paint job before the body work got done. The body is the weakest part of the car - mechanically it's very sound.
The good:
ASE tech owned.
New (used) engine in 2008 with 55k miles. I've put less than 10k miles on it since then.
Brand new Z1 600hp rated clutch and lightened fly wheel from Z1. Less than 200 miles on it.
Brand new new style 740cc injectors. This is a $4k job and only 200 miles on it since getting it done. This is a MUST for any Z owner or you will blow injectors like crazy with today's fuel ethanol content.
JWT single intake
JWT tuned chip
Short shifter
New battery, filters etc.
no vacuum leaks. This is a HUGE deal for modified Zs.
Underdrive pulley
Full exhaust with high flow down pipes, high flow cats (not test pipes) - it will pass emissions if needed and HKS cat back exhaust.
Greddy Profec B Boost controller
HKS turbo timer
Now rare Greddy front bumper
New tires, fresh oil change and fuel filter.
Would benefit from attention:
Intermittent rust. Shown in pictures
Drivers power seat needs switch replaced. (Will work if you jump the connections)
Aftermarket boost gauge needs replaced
Pinch welds crushed (a common thing on all Zs, even super clean ones)
Right rear wheel is bent.
Speedo intermittently doesn't work due to sensor - easy replacement for about $100 and 30 minutes.
Paint as already described and missing some exterior trim pieces that were removed for the body work and lost during the cars move.
Possibility of a bad wheel bearing or two.
AC doesn't work
Passenger side door handle is broken
Windshield washer system missing components
I don't have receipts for anything due to building most of this while much younger and disorganized. But everything can be verified with inspection and testing.
The car drives very well overall and if you don't need to adjust the seat, doesn't need anything that would prevent you from enjoying it as is. Obviously, with a little bit of work and patience the core components of this car are very sound for a 32 year old car. Especially in an ocean of heavily abused Zs out there.
Like I said, I've owned this car for 17 years and have worked on almost every facet of it myself as a former ASE tech. Most of what can be known about this car is known and I won't hesitate to tell you. I'm still a Z owner as I've bought another 90 300ZXTT that was already complete. I now have a family and a business with no time to work on cars sadly. So I have to let my high school sweetheart go to someone who will take care of it. This car is very sentimental to me, so I want it to go to someone who adores Zs as I do and who will make many great memories with it and ideally turn it into what I always wanted to.
I'm happy to talk through any questions you have and you're welcome to drive it/inspect it as you need to. Obviously I ask for proof of funds before test-driving a car like this. Yes, I will work with you to ship the car if desired assuming payment is received upfront.
Finally, please note that I do not need the money from this sale. This is more of a finding the right home than a quick sale. So, please save us both time and don't lowball me. In fact, I would say the price is fairly firm and fair when you look at what else is out there.
Please text or call my assistant, Jonathan to get more information or schedule a time to see it. Once we know you're serious, I will be happy to take the conversation from there.
