Classic Car Overview
Some cars tell a story the moment you see them. This clean 1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Limited Edition Convertible, better known to Mustang enthusiasts as the 7-Up Edition, is one of those cars. Showing just 24,000 original miles, this rare Mustang has spent virtually its entire life in California and Texas, preserving the nice condition you see today. It is backed by a clean, accident-free Carfax, retains its factory VIN decals throughout the body, and comes with an incredible amount of documentation that has followed the car for decades. Finished in its original and unmistakable Deep Emerald Green Metallic with a White leather interior and White convertible top, this is one of the most recognizable Fox-body Mustangs Ford ever produced. Built as a special limited-edition model for 1990, only 4,103 were produced, with just 1,360 equipped with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission. Today, they have become one of the most sought-after Fox-body Mustangs among collectors. This Mustang was originally delivered new by Roger Miller Ford in Orange, California, and still retains its original window sticker, owners manuals, dealer literature, extensive service records, original photographs dating back to its California ownership, 7-Up Edition information, car cover, convertible top boot, and an impressive collection of documentation that is rarely found with a car of this age. The body remains very straight, the Deep Emerald Green paint still has an outstanding shine, and the white leather interior has been beautifully preserved. The seats, carpets, dashboard, door panels, steering wheel, and trim all reflect the incredibly low mileage this Mustang has accumulated over the past 36 years. The white convertible top presents beautifully, and the factory spare tire, jack, and tools remain in place. While this Mustang could have remained completely stock, one of its longtime owners chose a different pathbuilding a Fox-body that many enthusiasts only dreamed about. A professionally installed Paxton supercharger, along with carefully selected supporting performance upgrades including a BBK exhaust system, transformed this already desirable Mustang into an absolute performer while maintaining its exceptional appearance and drivability. The car was recently professionally tuned and chassis dyno tested and produced an impressive 460.5 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels, with the dyno sheet included in the documentation. It starts easily, idles smoothly, pulls incredibly hard through the gears, and is simply an absolute blast to drive. The engine compartment reflects the same level of care seen throughout the rest of the vehicle. The installation is clean, well thought out, and presents more like a professionally engineered package than an assortment of aftermarket parts. This is not a hacked-up race carit is an exceptionally well-built street Mustang that has clearly been owned by enthusiasts who spared no expense. The underside is equally impressive. Having lived in California and Texas, the floors, frame rails, suspension components, and chassis remain exceptionally clean and solid, exactly what you hope to find on a well-preserved Fox-body Mustang. Finding a 7-Up Edition Mustang is becoming increasingly difficult. Finding one with 24,000 original miles, 5-speed manual transmission, California and Texas history, accident-free Carfax, complete documentation, factory VIN decals, and a professionally built 460 rear-wheel horsepower drivetrain is something altogether different. Whether youre a Fox-body collector looking for one of Fords most desirable special editions or a Mustang enthusiast wanting an incredibly well-sorted, low-mileage performance car, this Limited Edition Mustang offers the best of both worlds. Nicely preserved. Exceptionally documented. Properly built. Ready for its next caretaker. For more information, call Kevin at Mashburn Motors.
