Classic Car Overview
For sale is my 1989 Toyota 4Runner SR5, an increasingly hard-to-find first-generation 4Runner. This truck has been in my family for many years and belonged to my father, a Vietnam veteran. It has approximately 288,000 original miles and remains largely stock.

The truck runs and drives but has spent some time sitting, so I recommend a mechanical inspection and servicing before regular use. It has not been restored or modified, making it a great candidate for preservation, restoration, or a tasteful overland build.
The body is in solid condition for its age with minimal rust. It spent its life in North Carolina and was never exposed to regular winter road salt. There are normal scratches, small dents, and wear consistent with a 37-year-old vehicle, including a dent from striking a mailbox during a snow event. The drivers seat and armrest show wear, and the sunroof has the typical issues common to first-generation 4Runners.
These early Toyota 4Runners continue to become more collectible each year, and original examples like this are getting harder to find.
The vehicle is located in North Carolina. Because I now live in Texas, I recommend prospective buyers plan on transporting it rather than expecting a local showing.
