Classic Car Overview

1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL
VIN: WDBBA48D2KAO92499
50,200 MILES

This 1989 R107 560Sl was originally purchased in Oregon. The seller believes that the car was then moved to Arizona, prior to the previous owner purchasing it, where it was lightly used, and garage kept in Virginia since 2009. My father purchased the car approximately six months ago and now a change in life circumstance requires a sale. It is currently garaged in Vero Beach, Florida.
Since the purchase, A/C has been checked and re-charged with new Schrader valves, blowing very cold. New shifter arm bushings, new transmission modulator, new plugs, new battery, new alternator regulator, and alternator checked good. All steering components were inspected, and no repairs were needed or suggested. The car is coded 494 for California version and owner has the original build sheet. Carfax is clean, no accidents, all original and zero rust. The paint code is 441- Desert Taupe (Impala Brown in some markets) with 275- Mushroom tan interior. Every panel number matches.
All tires and the spare are in excellent condition, however with older date codes. There is some tarnish on the chrome wheels. One chrome wheel well trim was removed at purchase and there were no signs of rust. There is a custom Nardi steering wheel installed and the original MB wheel with SRS is included. The radio was upgraded by the previous owner to a Sony CD stereo with Sirius, and the original Becker radio is also included and works well. Speakers were replaced and upgraded at the same time. Interior leather is excellent, and the car has the optional rear seat belts installed. Hardtop stand included.
The dashboard is excellent with no signs of cracking. Windshield is original. Two small cracks on interior word trim and driver side visor tension needs adjustment or repair.
The climate control system works, blows hot and cold, however, the #38 vacuum diaphragm is believed to have failed, and vent diversion does not work. The owner has acquired the entire vacuum diaphragm kit to repair, and it is included in the sale. All other gauges and switches, including windows, electric antenna, central locking, cruise control, anti-theft, clock and tach work. Original MB tool kit is in mint condition and valued at $400.
The hardtop is mint. Storage rack, covers and soft-top windscreen included. The soft top is original, good shape and works fine, but is showing some wear on the interior straps and the plastic rear windows have scratches. Original German top replacement was recently quoted at $1549.
Power is supplied by a 227 hp, M117, 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and limited slip differential. 1989 was the last year of production and the vehicle has the most features of the entire R107 series, and the smallest build numbers, often thought to be the most collectible.
