1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC

The Mercedes SEC was introduced in 1982 for the US market and was the company's flagship business luxury express coupe. The no nonsense nature of its powertrain and functionality of interior design made it the ideal choice for barons of high finance during the 80's boom market. The top of the range 560 had a 5.6L V8 with Bosch fuel injection, putting out 238 hp and was mated to a smooth shifting, 4-speed automatic transmission. For good road manors, independent front and rear suspension with anti-roll bars was combined with a diagonal pivot rear axle and gas shocks. All of which provided a very compliant ride around town and at highway speeds. The car had the usual high spec of equipment one was accustomed to in a Benz; power steering, 4-wheel disk brakes, power: windows -passenger mirror-locks-sunroof-seats, electronic climate control, Becker cassette stereo, fog lamps, full instrumentation and beautiful interior burl walnut finishes. A few unique features of the SEC were classy fully disappearing pillar-less side windows and electrically assisted seat belt retractors that extend the seat belt upon entry once the door is closed for ease of reach. All in all Mercedes created a timelessly gorgeous coupe that still looks fresh and relevant today as it did almost 40 years ago.

This 560 SEC Coupe was built in March of 1989 and sold new by Gulf Stream Motors of West Palm Beach, FL in December of 1989.
The car is finished in its original color of Pearl Grey Metallic with Alto Grey lower trim and Grey Leather interior. The original MSRP when new was $81,590. The car has recently had over $5000 of maintenance performed here in our shop including: oil change, wiper blades, spark plugs-wires-cap-rotor, coolant flush, vacuum hoses, new fuel injectors, breather hoses, valve cover gaskets, new hood insulation pad, front tie rods replaced with a fresh alignment, and a new power antenna has been fitted. The front and rear bumpers were repainted to correct parking lot scuffs and chips and the car has just been fully detailed. In 2022 the fuel pumps were replaced and new fuel lines installed. The interior looks very nice and aside from some minor bolster wear to the drivers seat, it shows very well. Door panels are in excellent condition as are the carpets. The wood trim is all intact and the original Becker radio works fine. All glass is factory Mercedes branded. The headlamps and fog lamps are in good shape on the front end. There are some small chips here and there that have been touched up but the exterior is in very good presentable condition for the age and miles. All gauges function including the clock and temp display. All windows, locks, sunroof, and seat controls operate as they should. The air conditioning is currently non-functional and will need a new compressor. Tires are Toyo all-season and have like-new tread, showing 2022 date codes.

Included with the car are the original complete owner's books with dealer pouch, original window sticker, spare wheel, tool roll, jack, first aid kit, clean CarFax report and clear WA title.
