Classic Car Overview

When GMC rolled out the GMT400 platform in 1988, it was a monumental upgrade for the Sierra lineup. The fully welded frame, new engine options, and one-ton dually configuration gave the Sierra 3500 a fifth-wheel towing rating of up to 19,000 pounds, a number that made commercial buyers and serious haulers take notice immediately. The 1989 model was only the second year of that platform, and this example has lived its entire life as one of the cleanest representatives of it.
