Classic Car Overview
1989 Ford F150 XLT Lariat Short Bed Pickup For consignment, a 1989 Ford F150 XLT Lariat showing 41,586 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This ones got some performance goodies and suspension mods that make it a standout in its coat of black paint. Exterior Its inky black coat extends across the grille and onto the streamlined bumper cover, rocker panels, and sleek roll pan, all of which help change the profile and attitude of the truck. Once a work truck, now a sinister street machine. That change is helped by the stylish 18-inch American Racing wheels with gloss black inserts wrapped in newer, staggered sized 45 series ZR tires which give the truck a confident stance. Altezza style tail lights, dual chrome exhaust tips, and a smooth tonneau cover all contribute to this very nice package with magenta ghost flames bringing it home! Imperfections include a scuff on a corner and a few chips in the paint. Interior Gray formed plastic shape the door panel with a black vinyl insert, black carpet lower, and integrated storage compartments. Black leather bucket seats are still tall and sporty with a matching center console that doubles as a middle seat. Carbon fiber design adorns the GT steering wheel at your call, leading to a standard dash that is basic and efficient. One added gauge joins the Sony AM/FM/CD player as an upgrade and the climate panel is a remnant of this trucks simple, working days and is uncomplicated. On the transmission hump is the long Hurst shifter topped by a black ball, all over black carpet protected by Ford branded carpeted mats and in good shape. The headliner is smooth and tight and the bed is covered with a liner, also in nice condition. Drivetrain At 120,000 miles, a 302ci V8 was added and presents cleanly under the hood with some nice red accenting on the Edelbrock intake, Ford valve covers, and Ford Motorsport Mass air conversion. It has electronic fuel injection and an MSD distributor and coil and is backed with 5-speed manual that now has a Centerforce clutch. Power is routed to a Ford 8.8 rear with 3.08 gears. Undercarriage Generally driver quality underneath with a mix of typical surface rust and a polished part or two along with dry overall conditions. Suspension highlights include a Belltech 5/7 lowering kit on the standard rear leaf springs and front coil springs with radius arms. Power brakes present and accounted for with disc in front and drums in back. Exhaust from headers join as one and travel through a FlowMaster muffler before splitting to exit via chrome tips at the rear corners. Drive-Ability The comfortable cabin affords easy access to the long shifter and plenty of great visibility with the advantage of a slider window in back. The 302 comes to life with ease and idles nicely as we row through the first few gears and make our way around the test loop. The truck provides good power and nice handling with its lowered stance and all functions on board operate as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. If a first gen Lightning and GMC Syclone had offspring, it might look something like this aggressively attractive F150. Its much more of an eye catcher than your typical F150, and even as the XLT Lariat was the top of the line at the time, this one takes it to a new level. Its a sharp truck and a nice transformation from a standard F150 to something show worthy! 1FTDF15N4KNA71878 1-USA F-Ford Motor Company T-Truck D-5001 Thru 6000 GVWR F15-F150 4x2 N-5.0 Liter V8 EFI 4-Check Digit K-1989 N-Norfolk, VA Assy Plant A71878-Sequential Unit Number Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (thats more than 8 acres!).
