Classic Car Overview
The 5.8-liter Windsor V8 features multiport fuel injection and was factory-rated at 210 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a C6 three-speed automatic transmission, coupled with 3.08 rear gearing, and with manually-locking front hubs and a manual shifting two-speed 4x4 transfer case.
The truck's exterior is finished in brightwork that includes chrome front and rear bumpers, swing-away mirrors, wheel arch trim, headlight trim, and door handles. Aftermarket fitments include lighted running boards with incorporated debris guards, chrome window vent shades, and chrome front bumper overriders. Painted 15" deluxe argent wheels feature chrome trim rings with dual red pinstripes (repainted 2023) and wear 235/75 Michelin LTX M/S tires that show 2009 date codes. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums with ABS, and the truck is equipped with front and rear sway bars.
The truck's interior is finished in crystal blue cloth upholstery on the front captains chairs and rear bench seat along with matching trim, carpeting, and headliner. Under current ownership in 2023, unTek CIR 70 Series window tint/UV film was applied to the front windshield, both door windows, and rear tailgate window. Factory tint on the rear hardtop windows is pristine. Equipment includes power windows and locks, air conditioning (converted to R134 in 2012, optimized in 2022 under current ownership), a locking center storage console with cup holders, rubber and carpeted floor mats, wood-look trim, cruise control, powered rear window, overhead dome light with map lights, forward and rear interior lights, and a factory cassette stereo. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. All gauges, switches, lights, and accessories are fully functional.
This truck has enjoyed excellent care and maintenance by its three owners, and is fully documented with logs and receipts that attest to a complete service record with dates and mileage since new. All records will be included with the sale, including a 2021 professional exterior/interior and mechanical appraisal that documented the truck's originality and rating as a high number two vehicle condition. Under current ownership (2022), my objective has been directed to address necessary mechanical and age-related maintenance to ensure safe and reliable daily drivability. Highlights include: new steering linkage, front suspension refresh (various bushings, linkages, tie rods), new chasis stabilizer bar, new front and rear shocks, rear drum brake service kits and brake lines, new serpentine belt/belt tensioner/thermostat, new spark plugs and wires/distributor rotor/distributor cap/ignition coil, new Magnaflow stainless steel muffler (with tailpipe), various sensors (IAC, O2, MAP), HVAC repair/optimization, new neutral safety switch, various electric switch repairs (windows, tailgate, turn signal), and various other small functionality repairs. Great care has been taken to retain the truck's originality and maintain stock conditions and configuration, particularly by first opting to repair original switches/parts, and then using genuine Motorcraft replacement parts and hardware, where able. Routine fluids and filters have been replaced per factory recommended service intervals. Over $1000 of parts, fluids, filters, and a full set of the Ford shop manuals for 1989 F-Series and Broncos will be included with the sale. Under previous ownership, the hood is documented as being repainted in 1993 to correct abrasions caused by a bug guard, and the windshield is documented as being replaced in 1999. The frame, front/rear axle housings, and certain undercarriage components have been coated under previous ownership (date unknown). Under current ownership in 2023, the right door and right front fender were refinished to correct a dent and superficial damage from a minor collision (there was absolutely no impact or damage to the frame or internal cab body structure). The radiator guard was repainted to correct road rash chipping, and new factory correct pinstripes were installed on both sides of the truck. All body panels, bumpers, fiberglass roof, wheels, glass (except windshield), and interior are factory original equipment to this truck.
This truck retains a high degree of originality, is exceptionally clean and rust-free, and is in excellent driving condition. Photos taken by the original owner will also accompany the sale. I am happy to further discuss the history and current condition of this special Bronco, thank you.
