Classic Car Overview

We are pleased to offer 1989 Ferrari Testarossa s/n 80268, a very low mileage (20,133 miles) and well documented US model Testarossa, from new in Rosso Corsa FER 300/9 Glasurit with Beige A4208 leather, with a dark brown dash and console, and still in what we believe is all-original paint today. Testarossa s/n 80268 is document all the way back to its first sale, as a new car, on 17 May, 1989 by Wayne Farris, the service manager at Ferrari South, 419 S. Gallatin St., Jackson, MS to its first owner, James Combs of Hazard, KY. Testarossa s/n 80268 has also been serviced by authorized Ferrari dealers through most of her life, with a first service on 31 May, 2000 by Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale at only 4,538 miles. The next two dealer services were also at Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, on 30 July, 2002 at 7,075 miles and again, three months later, on 31 Oct., 2002 at 7,080 miles. By 20 July, 2004 s/n 80268 had moved to Michigan and was serviced by Cauley Auto Group at 9,855 miles. The last two dealer services were on 10 May and 13 June, 2017 by Ferrari of San Antonio at 20,020 miles and at 20,035 miles. Today s/n 80268 has only 20,133 miles over thirty-four years of careful ownership, and so has been driven a modest 592 miles annually. Clean Carfax, of course, call or e-mail us for a copy or additional photos.

Testarossa s/n 80268 comes with all the original Factory-supplied goodies including the original Factory leather carrying pouch with the full set of book, including the Owners Manual, the Warranty Book with the original owners name and selling dealer, the Service Organization book and the original Sony radio booklet. S/n 80268 also comes with full original vynll tool roll with all the Factory supplied tools, in excellent condition, and the jack kit including the vynll carrying bag, the jack, the jack crank handle, the lug bolt wrench, the socket and extension for the lug bolts, the spare accessory belts and the plastic two-piece fuse and bulb holder.

We believe the Rosso Corsa FER 300/9 Glasurit red paint is all-original and in excellent condition (other than a probable repaint of the lower front spoiler). There are two small dimples in the hood and a chipped area on the edge of the right front fender. The Beige A4208 leather and the dark brown dash and console are all in excellent condition with very little wear to the drivers side bolster and only modest wear to the upper seat back leading edge. The dark brown dash has no shrinkage and only light scuffing from a drivers ring on the upper front edge of the instrument binnacle. There are no sticky switches. She is mounted on a good set of P225/50 ZR 16 front and P255/50 ZR 16 rear Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires on what we believe is the original paint on the chip-and-scratch free 8 x 16 front and 10 x 16 rear wheels.

The Testarossa was introduced at the 1984 Paris Auto Show as a formidable yet userfriendly competitor to Lamborghinis Countach, thanks in part to its all-new 4-valve heads, putting out 380 bhp at 6300 rpm. Powered by the four valve version of Ferraris horizontally opposed flat-twelve cylinder Boxer engine, the Testarossa was quick, comfortable and made all the right sounds. Its dramatic side strakes helped to channel air into the dual rear-mounted radiators, which kept both the engine and cabin from overheating. Stylistically, the Testarossa stunned the world with its avant-garde styling. Long, low and wide, the Testarossa appeared even more so thanks to the extensive use of horizontal slating, a feature that would later be replicated on other Ferraris and on many other lesser cars. Thanks to its user friendly cabin and creature comforts, the Testarossa was very plush with leather seats, rear shelf, headliner and visors. Beneath these striking features was a surprisingly handsome form that remains as stunning today as it was when introduced thirty-six years ago. The front compartment is reasonably sized and the car is very comfortable, has light steering, is easy to drive and has great visibility, making it an ideal way to cover long distances at high speeds in comfort. Top speed was good for 180 mph while 0-60 took just 5.2 seconds. Today, the Testarossa is undoubtedly the bargain of the classical flat-12 Ferrari world, offering stunning good looks, unique styling, acres of torque and effortless performance at a great price!

Today s/n 80268 has only 20,133 miles over thirty-four years of careful ownership, has been driven a modest 592 miles annually, and so is in exceptional condition, in keeping with its dealer maintained ownership. The paintwork shows very nicely with no noticeable blemishes other than the few mentioned above. Panel fit is excellent as one would expect, and the body is straight and true. Both front fenders feature aftermarket glue-on Fender Shields which can be removed if desired. The Beige A4208 leather and dark brown dash and console are all in excellent condition with modest wear to the drivers side bolster and the upper seat back leading edge. The dark brown dash has no shrinkage and only light scuffing from a drivers ring on the upper front edge of the instrument binnacle. The headliner is in excellent condition and she is fitted with a pair of front throw carpets, both inscribed with Ferrari which protect the original front carpets and foot wells. All switches and related trim parts are in excellent condition with no sticky residue. There is a cracked corner in the back window glass, a new rear window is available at $3,800 and the installation is another $300. Has a non-Factory Viper amplifier mounted in the front trunk compartment and twin large speakers in a box behind the seats, both can easily be removed if desired. The engine bay is very clean and tidy and the red Testarossa cam covers have obviously been refinished in a recent engine-out service. The underbody, floor pan and suspension are damage-free, scratch free and so in excellent condition.

At some point in the future Testarossa s/n 80268 will be due for a 30k mile cam-belt service and fluids changes, which normally includes new accessory belts and hoses, cam belts and cam seals, tensioner bearings, plugs, fuel hoses, a new A/C receiver drier, fresh R134 Freon, a new water pump and a full set of tires, all of which can be done for $10k $12k. Thanks to its tradition Rosso Corsa Red with Beige leather and contrasting dash and console, Testarossa s/n 80268 is a stunning and user-friendly example, runs great, sounds great, shows and drives as-new and needs nothing to be a great driver to your next Cars & Coffee meet! Fly in for an impressive test drive, s/n 80268 will not disappoint. A pride-of-ownership Testarossa with only 20,133 miles Clean carfax, of course, e-mail us for a copy or additional photos. Priced to sell at $149,500 or best offer.
