Classic Car Overview
Rub every millimeter of the cirrusblau-metallic paint with jewelers cotton gloves to see that high polish finish has no dings, dents, rust, or scratches (other than the 2 tiny blemishes pictured) and that the sheet metal lines are perfect.
The black convertible top & blue upholstery are in exceptional condition. The dash is showroom perfect.
Restoration in the past 3,500 miles includes new:
80,000 mile rated tires
Timing belt
All wheel bearings
Rear axles
Driveshaft, U joints, center support bearing & flex disc
Front sway bar links & bushings (all other suspension wear parts such as the ball joints, wishbone bushings, shocks are in excellent condition)
Transmission seals, gaskets & filter; full synthetic transmission fluid, rear mount.
Reconditioned instrument console with new SI board, new batteries, new bulbs
Cooling system flush with distilled water then refill with 50% genuine BMW coolant, 50% distilled water
Differential maintenance w/ magnetic inspection inside the gear case finding no wear particles, gear oil refilled then changed again after driving about 20 miles
(brakes required no work)
(steering gear required no work)
Detailed records & receipts available
The drive train, steering & suspension performs the same as the 325i which I owned new 36 years ago. Its FAST with no vibrations, unusual noises, leaks, or squeaks (video).
BMW restoration is my retirement hobby (mechanical engineer who worked thru college as a BMW mechanic). Im selling this car so I can get another 325i to restore.
Stored in an air conditioned garage
IMPERFECTIONS:
A/C worked great but later didn't cool. Apparent refrigerant leak. R134A system so it is viable to repair.
Electric door locks click but do not stay locked
Clock / outside temperature display doesn't work
Carpet is not worn, though a bit faded in some areas
CarFax indicates the car has had 3 collisions though there is no evidence of any body issues. I think the paint may be too perfect to be original.
Steering wheel rim leather is a little worn
INCLUDED:
Spare tire mounted on matching alloy wheel
Jack, BMW tool kit
BMW 3 Series service manual, BMW electrical service manual
Parade mounting for (2) 6 foot flag poles (attaches to rear license plate mounting).
Car show trophy
New car cover
