Classic Car Overview
All this contributes to a driving experience that always leaves a smile on my face.
I bought this car from a fellow enthusiast in Oceanside, CA in February of 2019. During my ownership, Ive put more than 36,000 miles on the clock and driven some of the best roads in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, California, Utah, and Colorado without suffering any breakdowns or problems.
The car is currently in race mode with the bolt-in roll cage crossmembers and race belts installed, but its pretty quick to switch to dad mode and re-install the kids booster seats for a cruise around town as a family.
I've had a lot of maintenance done during my ownership all with the goal of reliability first and drivability/performance second. In addition to regular maintenance, highlights include:
- Getting the odometer and fuel level senders working correctly
- Reinstalling the A/C for comfortable driving in the summer
- Custom exhaust with cat delete from Snake River Speed Shop
- Installing a JR Parts Oil - Temp/Pressure digital gauge
- Making sure the drivetrain and suspension parts were working correctly.
Unlike previous owners, I've done very little of the work myself relying on the expertise of Solely Bimmer in Mission Viejo, CA, BimmerHeads in Santa Clarita, CA for the A/C component replacement, and most recently, Nick Tomanelli and the crew at Hurless Brothers in Boise, ID. I always opt for doing repairs the right way instead of the cheapest or quickest.
I'm open to a long-distance sale and would be happy to work with a buyer to ship the car, or pick them up at the Boise Airport for a fly out/drive back situation. I also head down to Southern California on a monthly basis for work, and could drive the car down.
A note to California buyers:
The previous owner was setting the car up to be BAR certified in California after the engine swap. I started moving in that direction after I bought the car, but dropped the project when I moved to Idaho. With its current exhaust (which has no catalytic converters) it will not pass California emissions requirements. I'm happy to sell to someone in California, but it'll be on you to get the car properly smogged.
