As had become customary since Rolls-Royces acquisition of Bentley in 1931, the convertible variant of the Silver Shadow was also sold by the Bentley brand, though in far fewer quantities. Initially badged the T Mulliner Park Ward Convertible (just as the Silver Shadow), it was later renamed Corniche in conjunction with Rolls-Royces naming scheme in 1971. It wasnt until the Corniche IIs release in 1986 that Bentleys received their own name: Continental.

Distinguished by Bentleys traditional grille this time with body-color vanes and special Bentley-specific alloy wheels, the Continental is otherwise essentially identical to its Rolls-Royce counterpart. However, the Rolls-Royce sold in greater numbers, as only 194 of the first series Continentals were produced in comparison to 1,228 Corniche IIs.
