It is believed that just 167 of Aston Martins brutish V8 Vantage Volante were originally equipped with the potent X-Pack to deliver comfortably more than 400 horsepower from a 5.3-litre V-8 engine. Of those, as few as 33 cars were built in left-hand-drive form.
This example, which was specified with a three-speed automatic transmission, was finished by the Newport Pagnell factory in Suffolk Red with an Off White soft-top roof. Its interior was trimmed in Magnolia leather and featured Burgundy piping plus Red carpets. The Car and Warranty Acceptance card notes that the Aston Martin was sold via the British Motors concern of Monte Carlo to its first owner, Mr W D Robertson of Monaco, on 24 April 1989.
Since changed to Royal Balmoral Blue, the V8 Vantage Volante was exported to the United Kingdom in 1997 when bought by a second reported owner. Acquired by the vendor in Sweden in May 2010 via Nicholas Mee, the car retains its matching-numbers X-Pack powerplant. It benefits from a 2022-25 engine, suspension, interior, and roof refurbishment plus repaint by marque specialist Aston Engineering in Derby that totalled some 140,000.
