Classic Car Overview

his 1988 Suzuki Samurai is powered by a 1.3-liter inline-four that has been fitted with a ZuksOffRoad MY-Side turbocharger kit and is linked to a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a rear axle with a lunchbox locker. Refinished in green over black vinyl, the truck is equipped with a Harley-Davidson carburetor, a FuelLab fuel-pressure regulator, a SPOA suspension lift, front disc brakes, black 15 Vision steel wheels, a stinger-style front bumper, a black two-piece removable hardtop, a padded roll bar, an Alpine CD stereo, Pioneer speakers, and a Grant GT steering wheel. Acquired by the seller in 2023, this Samurai is offered at no reserve in Colorado with a car cover, a Bestop bikini top, spare parts, service records, an accident-free Carfax report, The body was repainted green under previous ownership and a textured bedliner material was applied to the two-piece removable hardtop and rocker panels under current ownership. Details include black wheel arch flares, LED headlights and reverse lights, and a stinger-style front bumper with integrated LED indicators. The rear of the hardtop is secured with C-clamps, the liftgate struts do not support the glass, the tailgate is difficult to latch, one soft top mounting snap is missing, and chips are noted in the right window. Black 15 Vision 85 Soft 8 steel wheels were mounted with 31 10.5 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires and installed under current ownership, and a matching spare is affixed to the tailgate. The Samurai is equipped with manually locking front hubs, a SPOA suspension lift, and KYB Gas-a-Just shock absorbers. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The master cylinder was replaced in May 2024, at which time a heat shield was installed, and the brake proportioning valve was changed in June 2024. An alignment was performed in preparation for the sale. The front bucket seats, rear bench, and door panels have been reupholstered in black vinyl with patterned inserts, green piping, and Samurai embroidery on the backrests. Appointments include a padded roll bar, an Alpine CD stereo, Pioneer speakers, a heater, and a Compustar alarm system with shock sensors. The windows require manual assistance to operate and the plastic trim beneath the glovebox is broken. The leather-wrapped Grant GT steering wheel fronts a 95-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and readouts for coolant temperature and fuel level. Gauges for boost pressure, air/fuel ratio, and exhaust temperature are mounted atop the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 91k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report lists the issuance of Not Actual Mileage titles beginning in April 1997 along with a mileage inconsistency in February 2023. The total mileage is unknown. The fuel gauge only registers over 1/2 tank. The 1.3-liter inline-four has been fitted with a Harley-Davidson carburetor and a ZuksOffRoad MY-Side turbocharger kit featuring a Garrett turbocharger, a FuelLab fuel-pressure regulator, a blow-off valve, an external RDT Motoring intercooler, and charge pipes with silicone couplers. The cylinder head gasket was replaced in January 2024. Compression test results from August 2024 are provided in the gallery below, and the truck also has a fuel cutoff switch.
