The 1988 Rolls-Royce Corniche is a hand-built luxury convertible that officially adopted the Corniche II designation this same year .Key Features of the 1988 Model Engine: Powered by a 6.75-liter L410I V8 engine with Bosch KE/K-Jetronic fuel injection, producing roughly 240 PS (177 kW).Brakes: Anti-lock brakes (ABS) were newly introduced as standard equipment for the 1988 model year .Interior & Styling: Received updated instrumentation, redesigned seats, and minor trim adjustments, though airbags did not arrive until the Corniche III .Performance: Reached a top speed of approximately 118 mph (190 km/h) despite a heavy curb weight exceeding 2.3 tons.
The Corniche II name was applied for the United States market from 1986 and for other markets from 1988.6 Anti-lock brakes were added for 1988, but air bags would not be available until the Corniche III. Also new for 1988 were some detail changes to the interior. In 1988, it received a new reverse warning lens type and pattern around the rear license plate, as well as newly designed seats and redesigned instrumentation .
