Classic Car Overview

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys Paris event, 28 January 2026.
160,000 - 200,000 EUR

  • Originally equipped with the M505 Flat-Nose option code, a $23,000 extra
  • Specified with a limited-slip differential, electric sports seats, and electric sunroof
  • Delivered to New York in April 1988, prior to long-term Canadian ownership
  • Presents in its factory-correct Guard Reds over Black colour combination
  • Matching-numbers flat-six engine and gearbox rebuilt by Manfred Rugen between 2021 and 2022 in work costing 62,000

This Porsche 911 Turbo was completed on 23 November 1987 ahead of delivery in the United States. Collected on 18 April 1988 by the first owner based in Long Island, New York it was specified in Guards Red over a Black leather interior with a leatherette beltline. Significantly, the M505 option code denoting the Flat-Nose body style was selected at a cost of $23,000. Further extras included a limited-slip differential, electric sports seats, electric sunroof, and velour luggage compartment.

Between 1994 and 2015, the car resided with a second owner in Quebec, Canada. It then returned to the US, where a title was issued in Pennsylvania from 2016. With the Porsche acquired by the vendor in Germany, an 8,000 gearbox rebuild was completed by renowned specialist Manfred Rugen in March 2021. The following February, over 54,000 was spent for Rugen to overhaul the matching-numbers 3.3-litre turbocharged flat-six and fit a new exhaust system with dyno runs indicating a mighty output of 370 PS and 499 Nm of torque.

Also benefiting from Ingo Stimming attending to the bodywork and other technical items in work exceeding 22,000, this Flat-Nose 911 was catalogued showing 41,879 miles and is accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity copy and invoices for all its major recent work.
