Gateway Classic Cars Tampa is proud to digitally present this hard to find 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Ford originally built the Thunder to be a two seat competitor to the Chevrolet Corvette. By 1958 that changed and the Tbird became more of a luxury car for the American family. That was until the Turbo Coupes appeared. No, they werent a V8 and no they werent a two seater. The Turbo Coupe mixed performance with styling and dare we say, even mild luxury. The cars could compete with the European market as well as the American. In 1988, the Caprice was a style-less box on wheels, and the guys at Mopar....well they had nothing to offer. This white bird has been in the consignors garage for over three decades! The 2.3l Turbo, same as the SVO Mustang, was pulled, rebuilt, and massaged several years back so dont be afraid of the odometer. In addition, an intercooler was installed to help with performance. The bright white exterior and blue interior is a classic combination and still presents well. The Turbo Coupes are just cool cars and this one is ready for the open road. Comes with a clean Carfax.
