Classic Car Overview

Desirable Nero over Nero example
Equipped with factory air-conditioning and power windows
Timing belt service performed in 2021
An enduring poster car of 1980s excess, style, and speed

Few automobiles have transcended the automotive world quite like the Ferrari Testarossa. Introduced for 1984 as the successor to the Berlinetta Boxer, the Testarossa quickly became one of Ferraris defining creations. Penned by Pininfarina, its dramatic side strakes, wide rear track, and unmistakable wedge-shaped profile made it instantly recognizable from every angle. The Testarossa evolved into a genuine cultural phenomenon. It adorned bedroom walls around the globe as the ultimate poster car, starred in blockbuster films and television shows, appeared in countless video games, and became the preferred transportation of movie stars, rock legends, and professional athletes eager to showcase success. For an entire generation, the Testarossa defined what an exotic supercar should look and feel like.

A desirable Nero over Nero example from Maranello is this 1988 Ferrari Testarossa, a true poster car from the 80s. Presented with its eye-catching and iconic side razer slats that make it look fast standing still, its equipped with pop-up headlights, fog lights, added Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, quad exhaust pipes, and silver 18-inch five-spoke wheels. The Nero-trimmed cabin features seats that were rebolstered under previous ownership, a CD stereo, motorized seat belts, factory air-conditioning, power windows, and odometer that shows under 28,000 miles from new. At its heart lies a 4.9-litre flat-12 engine that is factory rated at 380 horsepower. Backed by a gated five-speed manual transaxle and Tubi-style exhaust, its every bit as exhilarating to drive as it sounds.

A former resident of the noted Passport Collection in the 2010s, this example has been well maintained and professionally serviced. In 2009, it reportedly received a tune up that included the replacement of some gaskets, new struts for both the engine and front trunk lids, and then, in 2016, a 30,000 mile servicing was performed that included replacing certain belts and gaskets as necessary. Noted on the CARFAX report, the alternator was repaired, a new headliner was installed, and the timing belt was replaced in 2021. A year later, this Ferraris brakes were replaced. Additionally, the air-conditioning compressor was rebuilt, and the rear main seal, oxygen sensor, fuel pump, and coolant hoses were replaced. Also on the CARFAX, an accident was reported in 2025 but notes that this vehicle was not damaged. Toward the latter half of 2025, an oil change was performed and the battery was replaced.

Accompanying the sale of this automobile are service records, an owners manual, and tool roll kit. Today, this rare Nero over Nero Testarossa remains one of the most celebrated Ferraris ever produced, admired not only for its exhilarating performance but for its enduring status as a symbol of 1980s excess, style, and speed.
