With all the hoopla surrounding the new Camaro 1LE, let's look back at the original.
The story of the ZL1 Camaro, fitted with that rarest of the rare, all-aluminum 427 big-block V-8, is one that has often been told: How only 69 were made, how they exploited the GM option-ordering system, and how they've become the Camaro guy's ultimate Camaro.

Classic Car Overview
1988 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe $8,800
$8800, Or-Best-Offer. One owner, well-maintained 1988 Camaro with T-Tops. Black exterior with gold trim. Medium Beech interior. All original, including wheels, except for the hood. (Please look up the VIN to see color combo). It is a base 5.0L V-8. My Mom bought this Camaro new in 1987 where she drove it every day. When she bought her first new car in 2017 (30 years later) she gave it to me to sell for her (notice the dates on the license plates). The body is in excellent shape except for a minor spot on the passenger ground-effect where she hit a curb a couple of years ago. She has had the same mechanic work on it for the past 8 years (I have the paperwork). Since this is a California car, it has no rust except for two spots on two replaceable plates under the t-tops. To get it ready to sell, it has a new thermostat, coolant temp sensor, temp sender, radiator, springs, struts, and shocks, plus a new headliner. It needs new brake pads and rotors for the front and new shoes and drums in the back. It has a slight fluctuation in the RPM when driving and sometimes has a hard time starting after driving for an hour or so in stop and go traffic. After it cools, it is just fine. I believe it has something to do with the automatic choke and the engine temp. I just don't have any more money to put into it. The temp gage fluctuates sometimes, and along with an installed, new temp sender, to troubleshoot, I have a new temp gage which I have not yet installed. Again, the interior/exterior is all original except for the headliner which I replaced a couple of months ago and some small damage on the passenger side ground effect. In California, it always stayed under a car port, and now, In Tennessee it always stays in my garage until the weekends when I stretch her legs. If you need more information, or if you need for me to send you more pictures, then please send me an email or message me. I will be glad to show the car with an appointment.
