The 1988 M6 featured revised bumper covers with body-color corner trim as well as ellipsoid headlights. This example was finished in Schwarz (086) from the factory and was repainted under prior ownership, reportedly following the completion of corrosion repair around the lower sections of the rear fenders and left taillight. The kidney grilles, taillight assemblies, exterior trim, and window seals are also said to have been replaced at that time. Equipment includes a power sunroof, a front air dam, a rear lip spoiler, and bright window trim. The passenger door VIN sticker is missing.

Basketweave 16 wheels are mounted with 225/50 Continental ExtremeContact tires. The rear self-leveling suspension was removed, the steering box was reinforced, and Bilstein shocks were fitted under prior ownership. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs.

The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in gray leather along with a two-tone dashboard and door panels. Amenities include power-adjustable front sport seats with memory functions, power windows, air conditioning with rear climate controls, Dinan-branded front floor mats, cruise control, a rear sunshade, and a factory AM/FM cassette stereo. The air conditioning system was repaired under current ownership.

A four-spoke airbag-equipped steering wheel fronts a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a six-digit odometer showing 110k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. The odometer was repaired under prior ownership and the speedometer was repaired in 2022.

The 3.5-liter S38 inline-six is said to have been fitted with Dinan engine management software under previous ownership, and it was resealed in January 2018 when the timing chain and piston rings were also replaced. A Dinan front strut tower brace has also been added to the engine bay. Work under current ownership included repair of the power steering pump and replacement of the crank position sensors, oxygen sensor, voltage regulator, blower motor regulator, coolant temperature sensor, auxiliary fan switch, and accessory drive belt.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch, pressure plate, and pilot bearing were replaced under current ownership along with the shifter bushings and transmission fluid.
