1987 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit

Here is a really original presenting, second series Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit finished in the beautiful Light Ocean Blue (metallic) with cream Connolly hides throughout accented in a lovely Wedgewood blue combination. It has twin fine lines to the waist-rails in a grey-white as a stunning contrast. The Wedgewood blue and accents of the interior tie in charismatically with the light blue exterior. A truly magnificent combination.



These Silver Spirits are not so often seen anymore and it is truly a delight to come across such an original presenting example such as this one. Especially with a modest 56,000 odd miles.



The Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit is powered by a 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce designed and built V8 engine with the Bosch fuel injection system which provides ultra smooth touring.



This example is very clean and presents original in almost every detail.



A very clean 3-owner example that started life in Florida where most of her miles were clocked. The second owner held her in a private collection for some 20 years covering minimal miles before selling to the last owner in California from where we acquired her. She has a perfectly clean Carfax history, regularly serviced with anything requiring doing, attended to. Recently, all the hydraulics and braking system were inspected and serviced as required. Under the bonnet, the presentation is very clean. It has not been precision detailed but simply well-kept and maintained throughout its life. The car throughout, under the bonnet and underside look every bit of a low mileage Rolls-Royce.



The body of the car is straight, clean and totally accident free. The car has had some paint over the years but presents very consistent with a high gloss, deep lustre and pretty much without issues. There are a couple of imperfections here and there but nothing extraordinary.



Outside of this, all glass, rubbers, mouldings, stainless, badges and external fittings are all in good condition.

One thing that really stands this Spirit apart from most others in the US is the fitment of original and factory correct rectangular glass headlamps. These replace the rather unattractive 4 x rectangle sealed-beam (alla-Cadillac look) headlights which were a US-mandated specification at the time. The form-fit rectangular units now fitted is how the designers intended the car to present and, in fact, were used for the rest of the world ( ROW ) the difference is outstandingly better.



The interior on this car is without issue and simply gorgeous and completely original in presentation. The un-touched factory original Connolly leather shows beautifully with just the right amount of natural patina. It all presents very clean with the seat leather supple and soft.



The Wedgewood blue contrast on the seat piping, the dash top-roll and the rear parcel shelf are a very elegant touch. This combined with a brand new set of matching factory-correct light blue lambswool floor ugs, completes the look. A very elegant and cosy welcome that contrasts extremely well with the Light Ocean Blue exterior.



Carpets, seats, dash, rear parcel shelf, fixtures and fittings are truly nice and I best encourage you to look at all the photos to fully appreciate how well the interior presents.



The dash wood has some hairline fractures in the finish but I believe they do not warrant refinishing. The door cappings appear to have been redone and although not done to exacting perfection of the Rolls-Royce standard, present acceptably.
