My 1987 black naturally aspirated 944 is actually the first 944 that I bought. It was part of my water-cooled transaxle collection of 924-928-944 and 968 cars. This Porsche is a car Ive owned probably seven or eight years, although Ive not really driven it much. Its the perfect candidate for a track car, a canyon car, or a very cool blank canvas to do a rally car or an art car.
Ill leave that choice to you guys.
Magnus Walker
With aggressive Le Mans-inspired box flairs and a fully in-house designed 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the Porsche 944 drastically increased the performance potential of the transaxle platform upon its release in 1982. Widely recognized and celebrated for its superb chassis balance, the 944 is a delight to experience from behind the wheel thanks to high levels of grip and a responsive engine.
This North American-market Porsche 944 was completed at the Neckarsulm Plant on 27 November 1986. Finished the classic combination of Black over a Black partial leather interior, further factory options included a rear wiper, four-spoke sport steering wheel, cruise control, an alarm system, and an electric sliding sunroof.
Originally delivered to the Northeast, the Porsche would move to California in the mid-1990s prior to being acquired by Magnus Walker in the late 2010s. At time of cataloguing, it displayed 136,755 miles.
As with most of the vehicles in the Magnus Walker Collection, this 944 has been customized by its owner in this case only mildly, with the addition of 17-inch Cup-style wheels. Perfect to enjoy in its current configuration, it is also, as Walker notes, the ideal blank canvas, with limitless creative possibilities in store for its next owner.
