Classic Car Overview

Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The Porsche 944 is a sports car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Porsche from 1982-1991. With over 163,000 cars produced, the 944 was the most successful sports car in Porsches history until the Boxster and 997 Carrera. Changes occurred for the 1987 model year. The North American variant of the 1987 944 Turbo became the first production car in the world to be equipped with driver and passenger side air bags as standard equipment. A low oil level light was added to the dash as well as a 180 mph (290 km/h) speedometer as opposed to the 170 mph (270 km/h) speedometer on the 1986 model year cars. Also included was the deletion of the transmission oil cooler, and a change in suspension control arms to reduce the cars scrub radius. The engine remained the same M44/51 inline-4 as in the 1986 model. The cabin features power-adjustable drivers front seats that are upholstered in black leather (drive seat does have a rip) with a matching center console and door panels. Additional features include power windows, dual front airbags, an upgraded Kenwood head unit, and cruise control. The air conditioning does need to be charged. The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, tach, and gauges for turbo boost pressure, oil, battery, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 145,109 miles. The Porsche is finished in Diamond Silver Metallic and features a sunroof, pop-up headlights, fog lights and a black rear spoiler. The paint does have some cracking and fading present throughout. The 16 wheels show some curb rash, and the front are mounted on Michelin tires 225/55R16 and the rears are Daytona tires wearing 225/50R16s. The turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 243 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The Carfax report shows no accidents, and it was mostly a CA car throughout its life. If you are looking for a small project at an awesome price, call Classic Car Addict today at 480-256-1459.
