1987 Nissan Pickup 2WD King Cab

Classic 1987 Nissan D21 Hardbody XE King Cab.

This has been a West Coast truck with the exception of three years in Minnesota (1990 -1993). I am selling my beloved truck because, as I hit my mid-70s, I want a vehicle with more safety features.

Engine, brakes, 5-speed manual transmission, suspension, and lighting system are working well. Clutch, slave cylinder, flywheel, and clutch bearing replaced at 127k although it occasionally acts fussy. The problem could be as simple as a bad pilot bearing (not replaced) or needing additional clutch assembly components. New distributor cap and battery. Full tank of gas included.

The truck was repainted its original color in 2016. Minor body issues including left front fender and rear bumper dents, signs of early right front fender rust, and two small areas of chipped paint over the back top of the cabin (see photos). No big scratches.

The interior is in excellent condition with minor age-related defects (see photos). Carpet is in excellent condition. The heating, defrosting, and ventilation systems work well other than a broken driver's side air vent. The two extended cabin jump seats have been rarely used. The instrumental panel works well with the exception that the speedometer needle has bent over time. A radio harness and antenna are ready for a new radio. The original radio space cubby holder comes is available along with NOS parts (new side mirrors, outside door handles).

This D21 is joy to drive. I will miss my truck. I am seeking a new owner who will be proud to have and care for it.

With some TLC, this Nissan D21 King Cab XE has the potential to be a perfectly clean high value classic, easily worth 2-3 times the asking price.
