VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. Classic Car Overview

I am the third owner, the first owner was a family friend who had bought this car for his wife in 1987 and was located in Western WA where it was always well maintained and garaged. The second owner was my sister who purchased the vehicle in 2006 and drove it regularly throughout high school up to 2012 at which time she moved to Eastern WA and it was then used infrequently until I purchased the vehicle in 2022. This was a project for me and since the time of purchase I have extensively gone through this car mechanically investing over 12K in just parts and labor not including my own time or the purchase price. Everything on the car is original, functioning and complete except the alternator and the stereo system which was upgraded . The exterior is all original and to my knowledge this car has never been wrecked, there is some sun damage as well as rock chips to the front nose of the car as shown in the pictures and the plastic holding the windshield trim is degrading. All the rubber is good and the T-tops do not leak, also a rust free car. I have been using the car as a daily driver for the past 2 years and this thing runs so smooth and is so much fun to drive, I get complements weekly at stoplights. Here is a list of what has been done in the past 20K / 2 years.
- Tires
- Rear shocks
- Rear springs
- Front shocks
- Brake system flush
- Brake pads and rotors where done right before I bought it
- Font stabilizer bar links
- Radiator
- Radiator fan and clutch
- Water pump
- Belts and hoses
- Coolant system flush 3X
- Alternator
- Battery
- Spark plugs and wires
- Timing belt
- Fuel system flush
- All new injectors
- Fuel pump
- Fuel distribution valve
- Front and rear window washer pumps
- AC charged
- Gauge cluster refurbished
- Transmission rebuild w 100K warranty
- Carpet
- Headliner
- Stereo system with sub and amp
- Sound deadening mat throughout including doors
- And I have probably forgotten a few things, it has been labor of love.

This car is as clean, straight and correct as they come!
