VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity
The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.
Classic Car Overview
The 560SL also featured a revised rear suspension and a limited-slip differential to better handle the added torque and power. Mercedes also added anti-lock brakes, leather upholstery, and an alarm system. Today, many enthusiasts gravitate towards the 560SL as it retains some of the original lines of the pagoda SLs while carrying with it all of the R107s advances.
This example is finished in Signal Red and features accenting chrome throughout the exterior. This 560SL comes with a removable hardtop and a soft top. The hardtop is in good condition and is surprisingly easy to remove.
Inside the vehicle is a black leather interior with comfortable seating for two. It features automatic climate control, factory instrumentation, power windows, power locks, factory Becker radio, and power mirrors.
The Mercedes-Benz SL series started out as the top of the line sports luxury tourer that offered both performance and comfort. The third generation SL was called the R107 chassis and is one of the most recognizable Mercedes of all time. Produced from 1971 all the way to 1989, the R107 lived a long and cherished life. The United States was an extremely popular market for the personal luxury coupe, and almost of all SLs were sold here. While not as quick or pretty as their European cousins, the US market SLs still represented the cream of the personal luxury car crop. They are elegant, stylish, sporty, performance-driven and for the time being, relatively affordable. There isnt a better way to enjoy summer than in this 560SL Roadster.
