Classic Car Overview

Price slashed by $5,000! Two-owner all original, rust-free California classic. The current owner bought this car in the early 1990s at Mercedes-Benz of Stockton. It has been meticulously maintained by a multi-car collector family since purchased.??In the 70s and 80s few cars epitomized wealth, class and status more so than this vehicle: the Mercedes-Benz 560SL. Spanning almost two decades of production, it was instantly recognizable to just about anyone. 30 years since production ended, these roadsters have become classics in their own right, known for their impeccable build quality and comfortable cruising abilities.??This is one of the most iconic models to leave the Mercedes-Benz factory in the last half century. In 1986, Mercedes-Benz shipped its most powerful SL of the decade to the U.S. in the 560SL. The car was also the heaviest of the 1971-89 R107 SLs that Mercedes produced, but the new 5.5-liter V-8 engine???s 227 hp did a fine job of mitigating that fact. Top speed was much improved (from 110 mph in the 380SL to 130 mph), and the car was quicker from a standstill to 60 mph by about 4 full seconds.??This SL has seen fairly limited usage and has been garage kept and covered. The exterior paint still maintains a deep glossy showroom finish which is well complimented with bright and mirror like chrome trim all around. There are several minor paint flaws that are shown at the end of the photos. The original hard-top and seals are in excellent to like-new condition; the soft-top will need replacement. The vehicles interior shows very little wear. The leather has no rips tears or scuffs and is still very soft and supple. The carpeting is excellent with the floor mats showing a very slight degree of fading. The dash is flawless with no cracks, and the burl wood inlays are very bright and clear all around. All interior chrome trim is perfect. It still sports its original Becker radio.??The engine bay still wears its original decals and factory markings. The condition of the vehicles undercarriage tells the story of its fair-weather usage. The car runs and drives beautifully and all of the options function - the AC to less than a factory standard. The vehicle wears its original 15 OEM wheels which are in excellent condition.??If you are a fan of the legendary R107 Mercedes-Benz vehicles, here is a chance to own an extremely original, well maintained and with relatively low mileage example. Offered at $17,900. If you want to see the car we need advanced warning; it is garaged in Groveland, CA - Gateway to Yosemite.
