Classic Car Overview
Purchased almost four years ago on a trip to the Netherlands. Personally imported and titled by New Jersey in my name.
This is a conversion done by Burton in the Netherlands, who still make them today. There are hundreds of these vehicles in Europe, but as far as I am aware there are only two others in the US.
She is based on a 1987 Citroen 2CV chassis and engine and the parts are readily available in the US and Europe. The chassis is clean with no corrosion. The suspension and braking system are as new. The Burton is left hand drive, the same as a US spec vehicle, with a four-speed short shifting gearbox. She has only driven 26,000 miles from new; the odometer is in KM and shows 44,000. I have driven her all over the East Coast and attended several Bastille Day French car rallies in New York city.
The trunk is very large and contains a storage soft bag containing the tonneau cover, spares and wheel change kit. I regularly return over 40mpg, and insurance through Hagerty is around $200. The body is fiberglass and gel coated in beautiful blue.
I need to reduce my collection of classic cars, and that is the only reason for its sale. The price is very fair and firm. Please do not make offers or ask to trade. For the scammers trying to sell bogus inspection reports dont even bother calling.
