1987 Chevrolet Camaro

High Octane Classics is proud to offer this 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z finished in white over a saddle cloth interior. This car is said to be one of 16 examples modified with the ZR1 package from Performance Consultants, Ltd., of which four were finished in white. Modifications in 1990 included balancing the 350ci V8 and fitting a phase II camshaft, a custom Y-pipe exhaust, a high-flow intake manifold with ported and polished intake runners, shorty-style exhaust headers, and revised engine and transmission calibrations. The standard IROC equipment includes a body-color front spoiler and rocker panels, a louvered hood, IROC-ZR1 graphics, and upgraded suspension components, and additional features include a limited-slip differential, removable T-top roof panels, woodgrain interior trim, 16? IROC alloy wheels, power windows, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The gold-accented 16? IROC alloy wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle VR50 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front and rear discs. The IROC-Z featured a lowered ride height, larger diameter sway bars, and revised dampers when compared to the standard Z28.

The front bucket seats are upholstered in Saddle cloth, and interior features include an AM/FM/cassette radio, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, and center console storage. It was modified with gold plated badging and Andrew Woodworking Designs rosewood trim which accents the steering wheel, instrument panel, dashboard, and center console. The headliner is loose around the T-top openings and the heater core has been bypassed. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 145-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset oil pressure gauge, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows just over 3,800 miles. The 350ci V8 was modified by Performance Consultants in 1990, and work included balancing the 350ci V8 and fitting a phase II camshaft, a custom Y-pipe exhaust, a high-flow intake manifold with ported and polished intake runners, shorty-style exhaust headers, and revised engine and transmission calibrations. Performance Consultants, Ltd rated output at 425 horsepower. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. A straight-through rear exhaust portion is equipped with polished quad finishers.
