Classic Car Overview

1 of just 48 built for the 1987 model year of the 315 LHD Continentals produced
Elegant Brewster Green over beige leather upholstery with green piping
Exceptional, well-preserved condition with less than 43,000 recorded miles
Accompanied by VIN-matching owner manuals, original radio, tool kit, and emergency accessories

Bentleys reputation was forged during the 1920s, when founder W.O. Bentley built some of the worlds finest sporting automobiles, earning five victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1924 and 1930. Although the company later came under Rolls-Royce ownership, Bentley retained its identity as the more driver-oriented marque, blending effortless performance with handcrafted luxury. By the early 1980s, Bentley sought to further distinguish itself from its Rolls-Royce counterpart, reviving the legendary Continental name for an exclusive, two-door grand touring convertible based on the Corniche platform. Introduced in 1984, the Continental combined traditional coach built elegance with sporting character.

Hand-assembled at Crewe, the Continental featured Bentleys legendary 6.75-litre aluminum V-8, paired with General Motors proven three-speed automatic transmission and self-leveling hydraulic suspension. While its mechanical foundation was shared with the Rolls-Royce Corniche, the Bentley received its own distinctive mesh grille, winged B badging, and a more purposeful character that appealed to owners seeking understated exclusivity. For 1987, Bosch fuel injection further improved drivability and torque, complementing the cars effortless high-speed touring capabilities while maintaining the serene ride and impeccable craftsmanship expected of a Bentley. Every example featured hand-finished wood veneers, sumptuous Connolly leather upholstery, and meticulous attention to detail that required hundreds of hours to complete.

Among the rarer Bentleys of the modern era, just 48 Continental convertibles were produced for the 1987 model year, with only 315 left-hand-drive examples completed during the models production run from 1984 through 1995. Limited production, combined with timeless styling, handcrafted construction, and the enduring appeal of Bentleys traditional grand touring philosophy, has established the Continental as one of the marques more exclusive and highly collectible post-war automobiles.

Having traveled less than 43,000 miles from new and offered with a clean CARFAX report, this 1987 Bentley Continental clearly benefits from being thoroughly cared for throughout its life. Finished in elegant Brewster Green over beige leather upholstery with green piping and a beige convertible top, its one of the more attractive color combinations to be draped on these classy Continentals.

Most recent maintenance took place in the summer of 2026; a new battery was installed, a fluid and filter service was performed, the steering rack was rebuilt, and a new coolant reservoir was equipped. Accompanying the sale of this Bentley is its VIN-matched original owners manuals and supplements in a folio, tool kit, original radio, and emergency accessories.

Representing 1 of just 48 examples produced for 1987, this beautifully preserved Continental, in its desirable color combination, embodies the handcrafted luxury, effortless performance, and understated exclusivity that have made these Bentleys coveted by discerning collectors.
