This 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 is a clean and cool Land Cruiser that started its life in California and the Pacific NW before spending some time in the South and Midwest where it was used as a fair weather vehicle. This vehicle has had a ton of work and improvements done to it in the last few years and we will try to detail most of them in this description. The last owner lived in Michigan and spent $15,000 + doing mechanical upgrades, preventive maintenance, and repairs at Technique Vehicle Outfitters which specializes in Toyotas and Overlanding (Have Receipts). His goal was to build a turn key and reliable truck that he could drive in the summers when he wanted with no worries.

The body on this FJ60 is clean and straight. It was repainted in its original color of Dark Blue Metallic which appears Gray depending on the lighting. The paint looks great and all of the chrome and trim appear to be original and is still very nice. The underside is super clean and we found no rust issues with this vehicle.

The interior is also in excellent condition. It has been mostly redone with the seats being professionally reupholstered in OEM style upholstery. They look awesome. The door panels were also redone to match. It received new carpet with Kilmat sound insulation, new headliner, and there was a new dash cover installed as well. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work. It has tilt wheel and a working aftermarket stereo. The windshield wipers and horn work. The heat and AC also work. The AC was overhauled a few years ago with new compressor, evaporator, and condensor.

Mechanically this vehicle is Top Notch and recently completely checked out (2025). It runs and drives excellent. The engine is the 2F 4.2L Inline 6 known for its reliability and longevity. It appears to be all stock and it runs strong with no issues or rede flags that we found. In 2025 it received a new rear main seal, new valve cover gaskets, valve adjustment, new waterpump, new thermostat, new belts and hoses, coolant flush, full tuneup, carb rebuild, new vacuum lines. It has the H42 4 Speed Manual Transmission that shifts great with a strong clutch. It received fluid flush in 2025. It is mated to the Toyota Split transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. It has the Toyota 9.5 rear axle with 3.70 that was rebuilt with new Yukon gears, bearings, and seals. The front axle is the 9.5 with 3.70 gears and it had the knuckles rebuilt and new bearings. Other recent work includes a new Red Head steering Box and dampner, 2 Inch Old Man Emu lift with upgraded shocks, new sway bar bushings, and new brake hoses. This is all sitting on a nice set of factory steel wheels with new 32 Inch BFG All Terrain tires.
