VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. Classic Car Overview

Looking for an offer call or text my cell listed in the ad. 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo (951), 111,000 miles, 5spd manual, all stock never modified or raced. I am the 3rd owner, only adult owned and driven, purchased in 2003 with 88K, clean Car Fax will supply to serious buyers. Garaged and maintained also comes with an all-weather cover. I believe the car has every option for its model year including cruise control, the roof works and does not leak at all. I consider it to be in good condition with typical patina for its age, car is not perfect if it was it could be selling for so much more. Overall, the body is sound but most paint is 34 years old (patina) and last owner used it as his daily drive for 10 years so small nicks, scratches, door dings, road rash, again the car was driven and enjoyed. The factory Fuchs are in good shape and true but show typical ware for 35 years, these Fuchs are not typically seen on a 951 so it sets the car apart and looks very classic Porsche. The interior is in good shape with typical cracks in the leather seats, drivers’ side has torn through but intact, all the carpet is good as is rear seat, headliner and hatch area. No leaks and no rust at all. The dash has minor cracks considering all 944s develop them, but the garage helped a lot with sun related issues overall.

Car has typical 944 issues; Portions of the HVAC control panel are non-functioning which includes the AC button, easy to get a new panel. Heat works fine can control temp and can control fan speed but little air direction. Both power windows working but actuators are very slow. The body has one small dent at the back driver’s side corner which I never fixed, and the passenger side front fender and door have been repainted due to a very minor incident of a car backing into it while at a Porsche repair shop of all places....

The car runs and drive very strong and fast, Turbo kicks in and still throws you back into the seat, amazing performance up to speed on highways, the turbo’s power and passing ability still impresses. I still love driving this car with its power, classic long hood looks, boxy fender flares, simple clean design, retro turbo performance and neutral handling. It has been very reliable over my 18 years of ownership. Below is work performed over years / miles.

Select Work performed on the 951:

90K Replaced PS rack, boots, reservoir, trans fluid, 90K tune up/ service, air flow meter and throttle switch.

99K Replaced the entire clutch, timing and balance shaft belts, water pump, brake and clutch reservoir.

103K R/F control arm.

108K Clutch slave cylinder replacement, address various oil leaks (never ending work)

110K 4 new Hankook Ventis S1 Noble2 tires. (2 years ago)

111K just replaced the radiator with new and fixed minor coolant leaks

Oil changes every 3K to 5K along the way, batteries, minor issues fixed…
