Classic Car Overview

As much as I hate to, I am selling my 1986 Porsche 928 S with 281,430 (yes, you read that correctly) miles.  I need to part with this vehicle because my Charger suffered a lifter failure and so I'm selling this car to help fund fixing that.  Additionally, we've recently moved to a new house that doesn't have garage space for it and I don't want it sitting out in the elements.  I wrote a very long, detailed one of these descriptions earlier...but the AutoTrader website timed out and lost the entire thing, so now you are going to have to settle for what I can remember off the top of my head (sorry!) I have owned this Porsche for four years, and during that time it's been a very reliable vehicle (believe it or not given the mileage).  When I purchased this vehicle I believe it had around 273,500 miles on it, so I've put almost 8,000 miles on it during my four years of ownership. 5,000 of those miles were during 2019 just before Covid hit when I took this car driving around the country filming great roads and drives in several different states for a YouTube channel I'm launching soon. During that epic road trip she didn't give me any trouble at all and was a pleasure both on twisty roads and while eating away the miles in-between destinations. A huge part of that is the great front seats which are both supportive and very comfortable, I can't say enough good about them. Speaking of that 5,000 mile road trip, that's about how many miles are on the tires as just before setting off I had just put a fresh set of Michelin Pilot Exaltos on the car, which are Porsche recommended tires for this vehicle and carry Porsche's N-Spec rating of N0 as well as a ZR speed rating.  Now she's far from perfect (with as many miles as she has that should be a given) and I've tried to document her cosmetic blemishes as well as I could in the pictures. She does drip a little oil and power steering fluid, but when you have over a quarter of a million miles you're allowed to (I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere).  She has a few other "quirks and features" as well such as the climate control blowing both hot and cold air at the same time, regardless of what setting you have it on. She has cruise control, but it will vary the speed between 10 miles above and below what you've set it to and sometimes just decide to shut off for no reason, so that will probably need looked at. Also, recently the rear hatch has decided not to latch properly from time-to-time so you sometimes get a little fresh breeze from the back (it's refreshing).  Don't worry though, it only opens a crack and won't open up fully or anything while driving (thankfully!)  Several of these issues I tried to get fixed by taking it to my mechanic (the former owner of the car) and he said the leaks weren't serious enough to deal with yet and he couldn't figure out the cruise control issue and gave up on it.  He did replace the struts on the rear hatch for me though and so it won't come crashing down on your head (which I think is a big plus!).  The latch issue is newer though, so I intend to buzz it over to get looked at hopefully today and get that addressed, so depending on when you're reading this that issue may already be resolved.  So not a perfect car by any means, but I think it's in great shape for its age and mileage. A friend of mine said, "she's about a ten-footer" which is much better than a twenty-footer, so I'll take it!  All jokes aside though, I know it's high mileage and far from perfect which is why I've priced it lower than any of the other (not wrecked, clean title) examples I could find for sale online. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to read my rambling.
