Overview
Offered for sale is my 1986 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade, which I purchased in 1988 when it was just two years old. Ive been the sole owner for the past 37 years. This CJ-7 has never been in an accident, has always been carefully maintained, and currently shows just over 117K original miles. It runs perfectly and remains a strong, dependable driver.
Restoration
In 2012, I performed a complete frame-off restoration and installed a fiberglass body, ensuring this Jeep will never rust. The frame was stripped, inspected, refinished, and reassembled with meticulous attention to detail. During the restoration, all critical components were refreshed or replaced as needed suspension, brakes, bushings, fuel system, and hardware creating a Jeep that drives as solidly as it looks.
Mechanical & Driving Condition
Powered by the original 4.2-liter inline-six engine paired with a T-5 five-speed manual transmission, the drivetrain operates flawlessly. It has an upgraded Weber carburetor and electronic distributor. The 4x4 system engages smoothly, and it runs strong at any speed. Everything functions as intended it starts easily, idles evenly, and is ready to be enjoyed immediately.
Body & Interior
The Jeep features a fiberglass Renegade-style body finished in blue with matching graphics, complemented by a hard top and steel doors. The interior is clean, simple, and functional, showing only light, honest wear. The hinges and exterior door latches have some surface rust as I live very close to the beach; it is unavoidable with the salty air.
