Classic Car Overview
Asking 320,000 EUR
Conceived to replace Ferraris 512 BB, the Testarossa broke cover at the 1984 Paris Motor Show. A striking departure from the seductive curves of its predecessor, the new flat-12-powered flagship supercar featured more angular styling with trademark slatted cooling vents and an aggressive wedge shape. With its name inspired by the 250 Testa Rossa of the 1950s, the new Testarossa proved just as provocative and iconic, so much so that Ferrari once again has chosen to bring the name back with their recent introduction of the 849 Testarossa.
The earliest examples of Ferraris then-flagship model can be identified by their single A-pillar-mounted drivers mirror, earning it the Monospecchio moniker. Chassis number 60847 is one such Testarossa, finished in the exceedingly rare shade of Argento Metallizzato (Fer 101/C) over a Pelle Rossa (VM 3171) leather interior, said to be one of just six Monospecchios produced as such.
Destined for the Belgian market, chassis number 60847 was delivered on 31 January 1986 via Francorchamps Motors of Brussels. Later, it went to Japan before returning to Europe via France, eventually making its way back to its native Italy in 2007. Most recently, in November 2025, the Ferrari received a substantial engine service including the replacement of cam belts and a full differential and gearbox rebuild performed by the esteemed workshop Toni Auto of Maranello, located just down the road from the factory itself. Photos on file reveal a complete teardown and rebuild of the V-12 and gearbox performed at this time, with the associated invoice totaling to 27,900.
During the aforementioned engine-out service, the car was also inspected for Ferrari Classiche certification, which was subsequently granted in January 2026, confirming that the car retains in its original chassis, engine, and gearbox and presents today as it did when it left Maranello in 1986. The Ferrari is offered with its service book, copies of old Italian registration documents, and invoices for workshop maintenance dating to 2006. The odometer is presently showing 57,229 kilometres.
Undoubtedly the most desirable iteration of the Testarossa, these early Monospecchio cars are highly sought after for their purity of design and visual panache. This particular example certainly stands out from the rest, due to being presented in a rare and factory original colour combination in addition its recent major service and Classiche certification. Simply stated, this Testarossa needs nothing but an enthusiastic new owner, ready to drive and enjoy one of Ferraris most iconic automobiles.
