The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!
The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.
Classic Car Overview
1986 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible The C4 Corvette represented a clean break from the Zora Arkus-Duntov-designed C3, with a completely new chassis and sleeker, more modern but still evolutionary styling. It was the work of a team under chief Corvette designer Dave McLellan, whod taken over from Duntov in 1975. For consignment we offer a 1986 version of the Americas sports car. A 350ci V8 engine, and a very nicely preserved maroon exterior, performance handling, and an improved fuel injection system are just a few of the upgrades included for this year. 39,000 original miles. Exterior All clean bright maroon fiberglass in good condition. Consigner states that the uppers of this car were repainted due to the original clear coat failing. Very minor dulling in the paint and some areas of overspray, but overall well preserved. New rubber seals are noted throughout as well. Dual electric controlled sport mirrors, and a new black cloth top with clear plastic rear window. 16 turbine style wheels are on all 4 corners. Interior Gray leather in bucket form grace the inside of this Vette. The drivers seat has some signs of wear with cracking on the bolster area. A digital driver information system is seen on the square design dash, as well as the 4-speed automatic transmission shifter in the console. The seats flank a console glovebox and various power option controls such as power windows, power steering and a key fob remote access button will get you into the rear storage area that has enough room to take the bags for a long trip. Gray carpeting appears original and shows some staining. Door panels are black vinyl and have a peppering of black inserts to add contrast to their style. The factory AM/FM/Cassette player is neatly resting the dash. Drivetrain A 350ci V8 with electronic fuel injection can be viewed within an original engine bay with the flip of the hood. All clean under here with slight corrosion. Bolted on back is the 4-speed automatic transmission. Keeping everything cool is an electric fan on the cooling system. Undercarriage Reasonably clean and rust free. C4 suspension is seen which includes a posi trac rear, and fiberglass mono leaf spring setup is on the rear with independent suspension up front. Drive-Ability Started right up and the digital dash came to life with all the stats. Drives very smoothly, has plenty of power, and the convertible worked flawlessly. Solid handling, and we can experience some Gs. Overall a good Corvette all around. A 350ci engine which runs well and starts quickly. Nice maroon paint and new convertible top. All correct badging, and leather interior.
