Aston Martins V8 Volante was arguably the ultimate in 1980s soft-top luxury, boasting an insulated power-operated top, a walnut-embellished leather interior, and an all-alloy four-cam V-8 engine delivering 300 horsepower through a quartet of Weber carburettors.
Exhibited by British Motors SA at the 1984 Paris Auto Salon, a show renowned for the debut of Ferraris legendary Testarossa, this superb V8 Volante left the factory finished as it remains today in Windsor Red over beige upholstery, accented by dark red piping and red carpeting. In addition to its showstopping livery and Paris Salon provenance, this Volante also delivers an engaging drive via its five-speed ZF manual gearbox.
Following its turn at the Salon, the car was sold just days later to a well-heeled Parisian gentleman residing on Avenue Foch. Imported to Germany in 1998 and in the consignors possession since 2009, the car has had limited use and is said to have recently received a fresh convertible top. Inspection has importantly confirmed that the engine stampings match those on the cars build record and at the time of cataloguing, the odometer reads 51,145 kilometres. It is accompanied by a German Fahrzeugbrief with historic vehicle status (H-Kennzeichen) as well as copies of its original build record and warranty agreement.
