VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

Classic Car Overview

We bought this Vanagon Westfalia Camper in 2011 and are the 3rd owner. It has been garaged since 2011 and all owners have been in Washington state. We have enjoyed many adventures in this van with our two kids who are now grown and we are looking to move to a truck/camper setup as we move into the next phase of life. This has been my daily driver since 2021 when we had the engine swapped by Small Car Performance in Tacoma (chassis mileage was about 280,000 at the time of the engine swap). The new engine is from a 2012 Subaru Legacy (2.5 liter) and was fully rebuilt prior to the install. Mileage is now 302,700 miles. Very little rust. There are a few dents but overall the body is in very good shape. This van is very mechanically sound.

The following work was also done by Small Car Performance in 2021:
Stainless exhaust kit
Condenser kit for AC
4 wheel disc brake upgrade kit (front brakes 98 Passat, rear brakes 91 Audi Quattro)
16 Alloy wheels and new tires
Bilstein shocks and new spring kit
Transmission rebuilt and regeared to provide overdrive
140 Amp hour house battery installed with fuse panel, separator and dual bank charger
Fuel gauge replaced
New fuel tank installed
New starter battery
Ball joints and bushings replaced
Replaced rear heater core, blower and valve
In dash AC installed
