1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL

This 1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Roadster, a unique mid-year model, was recently bequeathed to me by a dear friend. It stands out with its larger V8, a feature usually reserved for the 560 SLs, which is why you'll see this car rebadged as a 560. The retrofitted front lower air dams give it the 560 styling, adding to its uniqueness.

The car was finished in a custom gold paint and aftermarket pinstriping. This is where her affectionate nickname of "Goldie" has been derived. This car has been in the family, so to speak, for the last 30 years, adding a personal touch to its history. It is in good mechanical condition and functions as it should. There are a few areas of patina on the exterior, such as the hood and rear quarter panels, but the body is straight; there are no dents or misalignments in any of the panels. We've also retained the original hardtop, which is not shown here. Speaking of tops, you can see that the nice brown contrasting canvas top is exposed to show that it is also in working and functioning order.

We recently had the car serviced. The A/C components, serpentine belt, and timing chain were replaced, and the car had no mechanical issues. I do not have space to maintain the vehicle, so I'm looking to find a suitable custodian who will appreciate this particular era of Mercedes-Benz, which I consider to be the pinnacle of the R107 platform.
